Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our client on an initial 12 month term working from their site in Broughton.

Company: Our aerospace client is at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and innovation in the aerospace industry. As a dedicated agency representing them, we are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview:

In this role, you will become an integral part of a team responsible for the deployment and support of automated machinery for manufacturing aircraft wing structures and sub-assemblies. These cutting-edge manufacturing processes encompass machining, forming, drilling, fastening, cold-working, sealing, and painting. The range of automated machinery includes everything from large milling machines and industrial robots to lightweight solutions and collaborative robots (cobots). Core responsibilities involve defining new machinery, developing innovative automated manufacturing processes, project management, and offering technical support for existing machinery.

Responsibilities:

• New Machinery Development: Define requirements for new automated machines and systems, oversee their installation, conduct testing, and ensure successful acceptance and entry into service.

• Process Improvement: Innovate and develop new processes to enhance the efficiency and performance of existing automated machines.

• Project Management: Lead and manage Capital investment projects, actively contribute to multi-functional teams to meet project timelines and budgets. Support the CapEx process for medium-scale and high-value investment projects.

• Cross-Departmental Support: Provide automation support to various departments within OUR CLIENT'S and collaborate with suppliers as needed.

• Technical Expertise: Offer problem-solving expertise, technical knowledge, and conduct machine data analysis to support machinery in production.

• Technical Focal Point: Act as a key technical focal point within the plant for automation systems, contributing to the core team.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualifications: Possess qualifications and/or experience in the field of industrial automation and/or robotics.

• Project Management Skills: Demonstrate robust project management skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multifunctional team, sometimes taking on a leadership role.

• Digital Proficiency: Showcase proficiency in digital and data analysis skills, and experience with statistical or data analysis software tools would be advantageous.

• Problem Solving: Exhibit practical problem-solving techniques and methodologies, with a preference for knowledge of advanced techniques.

• Communication Skills: Have the ability to understand, translate, communicate, and present complex data in a clear and meaningful manner to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.

• Industry Awareness: Ideally, possess a good awareness of existing automation and/or robotics trends and technologies in the aerospace industry.
