Yolk Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a high tech engineering and technology business, designing, developing and testing next generation products with applications in Aerospace, Defence and Medical sectors.

This is what you'll be doing

You'll be working in New Product Development, from research, concept development, evaluation and through to product launch, providing mechanical design expertise, effective solutions and designs for the development of new and existing products, ranging from small component designs to complex turnkey solutions.

Core responsibilities include:

• Working independently or in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to design engineering solutions from a top level brief
• Design for manufacture, considering consistency in manufacturing, cost, safety, reliability and throughput
• Producing details of specifications and outline designs
• Assembly, testing and performance analysis of prototypes
• Producing detailed component and product specifications, and product documentation
• Working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to solve complex engineering problems

The experience you'll bring to the team

Essential:

• Proficiency with 3D CAD packages - Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Creo.
