Yolk Recruitment have partnered with a global manufacturing company who are in search of a Mechanical Design Manager. This is an opportunity for someone to join a company that themselves on innovation and cutting-edge product development. This role is crucial in their pursuit of excellence, so we are looking for a talented individual to take on this pivotal position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Mechanical Design: Oversee the mechanical design and development of new product designs.

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a skilled team of mechanical engineers and drawing office staff, ensuring project goals are met.

• Project Management: Plan, prioritise, and schedule tasks, ensuring delivery dates are achieved. Coordinate with third parties, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

• Innovation: Collaborate with innovation teams, drive new projects, and engage with external parties/consultancies to create groundbreaking products.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry regulations.

Essentials

• Qualifications: Degree in engineering. Managerial experience with a strong technical background (minimum 3 years).

• Design Expertise: Mechanical design experience, ability to validate the work of peers, knowledge of mechanical stresses, environmental factors, and electromechanical systems.

• Materials and Analysis: Knowledge of materials selection, specification, and testing, as well as experience with FEA and Moldflow analysis.

• Team Management: Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.

• Innovation Mindset: A passion for innovation, willingness to explore new technologies, and the ability to drive new projects.
