Yolk Recruitment are partnered with a global manufacturing company in the recruitment of a Mechanical Design Manager. As Mechanical Design Manager you'll be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Mechanical Design team, including personnel management, project progression and reporting. You'll be involved from concept to deliver, managing the mechanical design, development, resources, and documentation of new product designs, managing activity and change control, continuing improvements for both new and existing products.

This is what you'll be doing

• Review and approve product design, verification, and validation activities, as well as project documentation.
• Manage new product development projects, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
• Drive modifications to existing products
• Liaise with other departments for smooth transition of new products from design to manufacturing
• Lead and motivate the Mechanical Design team to ensure tasks are scheduled and completed on time
• Provide mentoring and manage their day-to-day activities

This is the experience you'll need

• Previous product/mechanical design experience
• Proven ability to manage people and project teams with diverse expertise.
• Excellent technical and project management skills.
• Educated to a degree level in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience in technical or project management.
• Review and approve product design, verification, and validation activities, as well as project documentation.
• Drive modifications to existing products to protect the business's interests.
