Mechanical Engineering - £450 per day inside ir35 - 12 months (extension likely) - Hybrid - North London or Royston - one stage virtual interview - ASAP start available - Sector: Green technology.

Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical engineering to work with a global leader in green technology and manufacturing. This is an exciting opportunity to support the provision of engineering direction and input into a £100M+ capital investment portfolio of Projects across the P UK business looking at a multi-year asset replacement programme.

Responsibilities:

  • The Mechanical Engineer will ensure that all capital projects from early concept and feasibility through to detailed design, build, commissioning and handover receives the appropriate guidance and direction, to ensure that relevant Mechanical Engineering standards are understood, interpreted and adhered to as part of the project.
  • They will support the maintenance of an overall Engineering Risk Register for the UK business and be responsible for and lead the maintenance of their discipline specific risk register for both the North London and Royston sites. Their role in risk management will also ensure that all capital projects meet the relevant engineering requirements in accordance with business and regulatory needs.
  • As a technical expert, the mechanical engineer will further ensure that latest technology available, industry best practice and value improvement engineering opportunities are considered into the final design solution (where appropriate) for the project acting as mechanical engineering sign off.
  • The role will set the deliverables and scope for projects by writing or contributing to Project Basis documents. Well defined CAPEX project scopes will be detailed by the mechanical Engineer by identifying risks and opportunities across the sites and also through working with the production and maintenance teams to understanding emergent issues or opportunities for improvement.

Core Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience working as a Mechanical Engineer (or Pressure Systems Integrity Engineer)
  • Experience working under PSSR, PED, PER regulations.
  • Experience of working with RBI / RBA inspection processes (e.g. API 570 and 580)
  • Experience of fitness for service assessment processes (e.g. API 579 / BS 7910)
  • Experience with recognised industry standards (e.g. PD 5500, BS EN 13121/13923 etc)
  • Experience working on an operational site as a Mechanical Engineer

Desirable Skills:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a recognised professional institute (or actively working towards this)
  • Project and commissioning experience
  • Experience managing an inspection team or setting inspection priorities.
  • Experience of reliability improvement and continuous improvement processes
  • Experience with rotating mechanical machinery
  • Experience of COMAH regulations and having worked on a COMAH site.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors is desirable.
