Operational Business Manager– Brighton

The opportunity

Yolk Recruitment Public Sector & Not-for-Profit team has partnered with a large and forward-thinking regulatory body. We are supporting them to recruit an Operational Business Manager on a Permanent Contract. This position is replacing an employee who has progressed through the organisation and is now taking on a new opportunity in the business. 

What the Operational Business Manager will be doing

The main purpose of this role is to lead the day-to-day elements of operations management, planning, risk, and assurance within the directorate. The role will need to engage with senior managers, requiring constructive challenge and delivery without direct line management.

  • produce outputs for formal corporate reporting (and contribute to content)

  • lead on development and maintenance of operations / resource plans — structure, updates, content

  • co-ordinate / facilitate teams to deliver business continuity outputs, and liaising with Central team

  • manage or contribute to other ‘operational’ inputs required

What the successful Operational Business Manager will bring to the team

This role is suitable for someone who has the following.

  • Experience of producing and using reports – numeric and narrative

  • Understanding of the purpose and approach to risk management activities, with knowledge of contributing to / using risk logs

  • Experience of financial management

  • Highly organised with great attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skill
