Yolk Recruitment are working on behalf of a fast-growing procurement SaaS business who are recruiting for an experienced Operations Director. This is a hands on, people management role for someone who has experience in a commercial setting, managing the team of customer success team, support team and implementation team

You will be working for a family run business who have just had major investment from an international company, they offer a complex SaaS procurement solution which is currently really successful in the public sector, with their services been utilised in Central Government.

This is an ideal role for an experienced Operations Director within SaaS or an Operations/ Sales Manager who is looking for a step up in their career. We are looking for someone with a people first approach, to manage coach and develop the existing team, whilst also putting a strategy together for the next few years to include revenue and headcount growth

With the head office based in Cardiff, this person will be expected to go into Cardiff two days per week so you must be able to travel there.

What are the responsibilities as an Operations Director?

  • Oversee all client-focused services and a team of 20 including Customer success, project delivery, configuration & training, support & maintenance, change control, data services and professional services.
  • Ultimate responsibility for every client to achieve success
  • Plan and maximise utilisation of the team and monitor and improve efficiency in service delivery
  • Provide input to the strategic direction to the business based on prior experience with fast-growing SaaS businesses
  • Implement and operate rolling recruitment and team training programmes (including delivery templates and toolkits) to develop and cross-fertilise skills within the team
  • Work alongside a Sales Director with a team of Account Managers with commercial targets for retaining and growing services with each client
  • Work closely with Director of Finance & HR regarding commercials (client orders, licensing and invoicing) and recruitment agents and partners
  • Oversee relationship with delivery Partners including Deloitte and Salesforce

What Skills/ Experience do I need?

For this role as an experienced Operations Director we are looking for someone with the following experience:

  • 7+ years managing a large and/or rapidly expanding software services team
  • Previously successfully managed or directed multi-£m multi-year software services, ideally within central government
  • Convey complex blends of business and technical matters to a range of audiences; ability to articulate points clearly as well as concisely
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills include building client relationships, leading clients to desired outcomes, negotiating diplomatically, overcoming objections and maintaining composure under pressure
  • Outstanding leadership including team building and motivational skills
  • Experience connecting with and working effectively with C-level prospects and customers
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement and contract management highly desirable
  • Knowledge of the Salesforce ecosystem highly desirable

What are the benefits?

  • Basic salary of circa £80,000 depending on experience
  • Up to 20% bonus
  • Remote role - need to travel into Cardiff 2 days per week
  • 25 days holiday + BH
