Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for an Operations Support Officer to join our client over in Farnborough on an initial 6 month deal.

About Our Client: Our esteemed client, a pioneering aerospace company, is seeking an Aerospace Operations Coordinator to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the planning and execution of groundbreaking flight campaigns in the aerospace industry. As an integral part of the team, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and transparent delivery of satellite operations.

Tasks & Accountabilities: As an Aerospace Operations Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Streamlined Coordination: Effectively coordinate various work streams to facilitate successful flight campaigns across multiple operational locations and diverse customer requirements.

  • Doctrine Development: Play a pivotal role in the development of doctrine, policies, processes, and toolsets to ensure the safe and timely execution of satellite operations.

  • Operations Support: Establish, manage, and nurture the Operations support cell, utilizing both dedicated and borrowed resources to facilitate essential activities.

  • Stakeholder Reporting: Provide accurate progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting risks and the need for additional support in a clear and concise manner.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Support Functions: Provide support to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and the first-line team by conducting feasibility studies, site studies, scheduling, and costings.

  • Data Focal Point: Act as the focal point for data flow within and outside the CSO team.

  • Resource Planning: Oversee active resource planning across the entire Air Operations department and ensure clear communication with all affected parties.

  • External Representation: Represent our client / Air Operations to national airspace and air traffic regulators, as well as strategic partners and agencies.

  • Pre-Deployment Coordination: Coordinate pre-deployment activities, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and our clientour client values.

  • Support Service Coordination: Collaborate with relevant support services to maintain records, licenses, publications, and plans (logistics, training, recruiting).

Skills/Experience Required: Essential Attributes:

  • Global Operational Support: Demonstrated experience in executing operational support on a global scale, prioritizing safety throughout all activities.

  • Strong Leadership: Proven ability to provide strong leadership within a complex business environment.

  • Effective Communication: Exceptional communication skills at all levels, both internally and externally.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proficiency in presenting to senior management, customers, regulators, and agencies.

  • Quality Management: Application of aerospace quality and assurance management processes in both civilian and military contexts.

  • Team Leadership: Adept at people management and team leadership.

  • Problem Solving: Capable of managing complex technical challenges with multiple interfaces.

  • Adaptability: Self-starter mindset, comfortable in a start-up environment with significant growth potential.

  • Project Management: Ability to consistently deliver on time, with high quality, and cost management.

  • Excellent Written Skills: Strong written skills to design and develop clear requirements.

  • Collaborative Approach: Able to work flexibly and effectively within a team.

  • Attention to Detail: Quality-conscious working method and organized approach to tasks.

  • IT Proficiency: Excellent IT skills relevant to the role.

  • Global Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel worldwide.

  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain UK SC clearance.

  • Adaptability: Openness to take on additional tasks as directed by the Head of Air Operations as applicable to the role.

Desirable Attributes:

  • UAS Experience: Prior experience with Unmanned Aerial Systems in an operational environment.

  • Governance Development: Experience in developing governance and processes for air operations support.

  • Multi-disciplinary Team Management: Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team in a complex organization with a strong adherence to safety-critical policies and procedures.
