Paralegal - £25 - £28.50 per hour PAYE - Central London - 12 months (extensions likely) - Hybrid working - one stage interview - Sector: Legal

Yolk recruitment is recruiting for a Paralegal to work with a global giant in sustainable technologies and renewable energy solutions.

The role of Paralegal forms part of the Legal Hub Team, which provides flexible and high-quality support to a wide range of sectors and functions, partnering closely with other lawyers in the Legal function to deliver this.

The role reports directly to the Legal Hub Team Leader (Senior Legal Counsel) and will involve close working relationships with the other Legal Hub Team members and wider legal function.

While not guaranteed, there is also the potential for a pathway into the legal sector on a permanent basis, including support in becoming a qualified Legal Counsel via the SQE.


  • Playing a key role in the establishment and rollout of our new legal workflow system, including taking responsibility for monitoring and responding to a variety of queries and requests in a timely manner.
  • Making judgments regarding financial and strategic materiality and escalating or notifying the appropriate individuals where applicable.
  • Supporting the Legal Function and the Legal Hub Team's strategic goals, including the Legal 1-2-3 strategy, the Legal Hub Team's culture and brand, what we do and don't do, and ways of working, including the rollout of our new operating Handbook and Modernisation projects.
  • Assisting in the drafting and negotiation of contracts, with levels of support and supervision depending on the value and nature of the contract.
  • Supporting and coordinating on various compliance-related topics (ABC, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Competition, Export Controls and Sanctions), including conducting of due diligence and associated risk assessments and planning and delivery of training.
  • Being open to support sector or function legal experts in relation to a wide variety of matters, including potentially company secretarial, mergers and acquisitions, finance, IT, IP and litigation.
  • Conducting legal research, summarising contracts and managing and updating contract templates, play books and guardrails.
  • Building an effective network both within the Legal function and the business functions you support.

Essential experience:

  • Some form of prior legal or related experience. This may include:
    • A law degree or law conversion in the UK or overseas.
    • Prior work as a Paralegal or Legal Counsel (or similar) in the UK or overseas.
    • Experience in a field closely related to Legal (including Company Secretarial, Compliance and IP).
  • A strong desire to learn.
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders simultaneously and balancing competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • An ability to assess materiality and recognise risk.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working with FTSE 250 / multinational companies
