What we’re looking for:
A skilled and experienced PMO Manager with a solid background in Portfolio Management with skills and experiences in:
- Leading and successfully developing Portfolio Offices and PMO’s
- Building a robust, high performing and energetic team
- Creating and growing strong relationships across the business and Change Community
- Working at a Strategic level, supporting Leadership
- Working in Agile/Hybrid delivery
- P30, Agile, Project and Programme Management frameworks
- P30 services and how to apply effectively to meet organisational need
- Key processes which underpin the success of the Portfolio, including Capacity planning, Benefits Management, Dependency Mapping, Risk and Issue Management, Assurance
- Portfolio/PPM Tooling and templates
- Problem solving and analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Visibility and Oversight: continuing to build visibility and end to end management of the change pipeline. Oversight and Portfolio reporting on Agile Delivery Metrics, Delivery Performance and Quality Assurance
- Portfolio Management/Methodologies/Processes: leading activities to mature portfolio management and ensuring that required processes drive value and are clear, understood and followed
- Reporting and Metrics: regular portfolio reporting is insightful and engaging, but also drives actions which add value
- Portfolio Governance: stabilising and managing the governance frameworks that support the delivery of the change portfolio
- Tooling: ownership of all PPM tooling and templates, ensuring that they are up to date, relevant and useful
- Continuous Improvement: Taking a proactive role in reviewing key portfolio processes, tool and technologies to ensure optimum delivery capability
- Leadership and Management: providing leadership, strategic direction, and support to the Portfolio Office. This may include direct line management, ensuring high quality pastoral care and line management, regular 1-2-1s, development plans, team meetings, appraisals etc
You will be joining the team at an exciting time with plenty of opportunity to shape and grow the Portfolio Office function and Portfolio Management maturity. You will be the guardian of the Portfolio Management Framework and will be encouraged to identify opportunities and process improvements.
You will support a progressive team of Portfolio Analysts who are working to provide analysis, insight and reporting of portfolio data to senior stakeholders. The Portfolio Office team covers a range of Portfolio services for a significant Change Portfolio including the supporting of pipeline management, dependency mapping, risk/issue management, governance and reporting and providing the Change Community with guidance around best practice.
A key part of this role will be to work closely with Portfolio stakeholders to shape, drive and deliver the strategy for the Portfolio Office team and Portfolio Management Framework. We are looking for someone who is passionate about continuous improvement and will look to innovative, evolve and push the team forward.
You’ll be reporting directly to the Head of PMO and will be working collaboratively with the Leadership Group and Change Community.
