Principal Systems Engineer - Global Systems Deployment - Cardiff (Hybrid)

We are currently recruiting a highly experienced Principal Systems Engineer to join our client's dynamic Systems Delivery Team. Our client, a renowned global leader in Marine Domain Awareness (MDA) systems, specializes in delivering integrated solutions using various sensors to feed data into a central database. The Systems Delivery department, an integral part of our client's Operations division, is responsible for overseeing large-scale system projects globally.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-contract Phase:

• Collaborate with the client's commercial team to specify and cost system components for proposals and tenders.
• Provide initial designs, documentation, and drawings, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Assess the technical suitability of third-party suppliers.
• Engage in technical discussions with In-country Partners (ICPs), vendors, and internal teams on product integration.

Post-contract Phase:

• Work closely with ICPs and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with agreed requirements.
• Manage costs and ensure budget compliance throughout the project.
• Execute specifications, designs, and documentation for site deployments, including:
  • Mains power and backup provisions.
  • Civil works for communication towers and site infrastructure.
  • Communication network infrastructure.
  • Design of mobile sites for land, sea, and air.
  • Security systems and safety systems.
  • Climate control systems.
  • Fixtures and fittings for control rooms.
• Provide training to internal staff, ICPs, and end customers as needed.
• Create maintenance and troubleshooting documentation for internal and external use.
