Procurement Manager - £600 per day inside ir35 - 6 months (Extension highly likely) - London - one stage virtual interview - Sector: Green Technology

Yolk Recruitment are looking for a procurement manager to work with one of the world leaders in green technology and manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will have a project procurement background and understands process plant procurement of equipment and materials.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to contract development, tendering, supplier selection and the negotiation of the end project.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the procurement input into the related Capital Projects business processes and procedures, consistent with agreed scope.
  • Ownership of the project procurement plan and it's execution in line with project, programme and business requirements.
  • Lead selection of, and negotiate contract for, sub-contractors.
  • Ensure the procurement activity for all packages, by the client or EPCM consultant are conducted in accordance with project delivery requirements.
  • Assist the procurement of critical & high value packages in a timely manner, negotiating cost savings and mitigating supply risk on the project.
  • Represent procurement within the project team and to projects key stakeholders in project governance meetings, providing leadership as required.
  • Support supplier selection, following a standard purchasing approach.
  • Support the Supplier Sustainability Development Programme to ensure supplier complies with the client's standards.
  • Monitor performance of suppliers and support Project Managers mitigate project risk.
  • Provide regular reporting to both the project team and Group Procurement Global Category Leader - CAPEX & MRO.

Key Skill:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience within a procurement management role
  • Experience project procurement management gained within industrial or process industry projects.
  • Experienced in leading and managing a team.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, tools, and processes
  • Strong negotiation skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Understanding of IChemE & FIDIC type contract templates
