Production Supervisor – 12 Month FTC

This global medical manufacturing business has established a new manufacturing facility in South Wales and has created a new position for a Production Supervisor to take the lead in organising and leading all aspects of production, testing and packing to meet growing output needs.
You’ll lead the manufacturing process and manage the KPI’s for the facility, while acting as the focal point of communication with other areas of the business.
This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with potential for ongoing permanence as the business continues on its journey of growth. As a growing operation hours are typically 9-5 but will at times be on a 2 shift mornings/afternoons pattern, Monday - Friday.
A background in medical, pharmaceutical or similar highly regulated sector is advantageous.
This is what you’ll be doing
Prioritise and schedule work to meet business needs
Run production meetings, presenting metrics and highlighting issues
Attend cross-functional business meetings
Keep accurate records and measures of production performance indices
Operate in line with company quality standards such as ISO 13485
Ensure Team Leaders (and Production Staff) operate in line with standards
Act as a focal communication point
Provide leadership and training required to achieve empowered and motivated individuals within the team
Promote and champion effective co-operation within and between teams
Identification and implementation of initiatives resulting in productivity gains
Carry out employee appraisals to agreed timetable and assist in the provision of development plans, selection and recruitment of employees.
Actively manages attendance and performance of direct reports.
Able to present an overview of production processes to external visitors as required
The experience you’ll bring to the team
An educational background in Scientific, Engineering or Manufacturing field, or operational experience leading production teams in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Familiarity within highly automated production process.
Demonstrable experience of high-volume flow production environments.
Fluent in the use of MS Office.
Knowledge of safe systems of work
Demonstrable effective communication skills
Experience of managing and developing others.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to drive change
Demonstrates a positive ‘can do’ attitude in a busy, multi-tasking working environment.
