Production Supervisor

£34,000 - £35,000 per annum plus benefits



I am proud to be representing this privately-owned food processing business who are passionate about sourcing and preparing the most delicious food possible. Due to recent changes in the business they require an experienced Production Supervisor with butchery experience. 


Your role will involve working in the Boning Hall ensuring that the production team are working efficiently and that all procedures are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with legislation and site standards. In addition to a competitive salary you will also be applicable for a KPI bonus of up to £1,000 based on performance.


As production Supervisor you’ll be


·        Ensure that work carried out by all staff within the department complies with company policy and procedures on safe food handling and hygiene at all times

·        Ensure work is carried out to the best of the employee’s abilities to meet production deadlines and exceed customer expectation

·        Promote training of all employees within the production area in line with departmental training skills matrix

·        Ensure all work carried out by staff within the department complies at all times with Health and Safety legislation in accordance with the attached Health and Safety responsibilities.

·        Responsible for the stock control of raw materials

·        With support and guidance from HR appropriately manage any issues arising with employees dealing with minor issue/offences in a timely and correct manner

·        Attend meetings as and when required

·        Actively promote and participate in Lean Manufacturing

·        Actively encourage and participate in storyboard problem solving process as well as communicating the outcomes to employees.

·        Assist and control the training and progression of new starters by developing them off line with the use of the electronic training format.

·        Maintain and control all auditable documentation for technical and People change purposes, including but not limited to, start-up checks, knife controls, return to work, absence and attendance management, weekly payroll sheets and buddy system requirements.

·        Comply with company policy and procedure on safe food handling and hygiene at all times.

·        Monitor and carry out SOP training when required


What you’ll bring to the team…


·        Food Safety Level 2 and 3

·        Can prove previous experience at supervisory level within a similar organization.

·        Experience of working with lamb and butchery essential

·        Customer focused and good communication and listening skills

·        Team Player

·        Organisational Skills

·        Basic IT skills

·        Attention to detail, self-motivated and be able to display a continuous improvement focus
