Yolk is a recruiting partner for a large Trade Union and professional body which represents and campaigns for its members, influences policy and practice and represents the interests of its members. Yolk Public Sector & Not-for-Profit are working with them on a campaign to fill a temporary vacancy for an Administrator
What you’ll be doing as a Public Affairs Advisor
Influence the UK Parliament, Government and other stakeholder audiences to achieve positive outcomes for the nursing profession. To inform and engage members and staff about the implications for nursing from political and sector developments. To mobilise members, the nursing profession and decision makers across the system to advocate for nursing staff.
What you’ll bring to the role as a Public Affairs Advisor:
- Knowledge and understanding of current political and media environment and key issues in nursing, health and social care issues Knowledge of Parliamentary and legislative procedures, policy-making processes and political campaigning opportunities
- Experience of influencing Parliamentarians and stakeholders to achieve measurable results Experience of researching, monitoring and analysing political and policy activity Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy, and negotiating skills when influencing political stakeholders.
- Proven project management skills, working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality outcomes within deadlines
- Analytical skills to assess information and situations in order to achieve an appropriate solution/approach and output
