A new opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to join this rapidly growing engineering and manufacturing success story that has continued to grow through even the most challenging of market conditions. This is what you’ll be doing
In a nutshell: you’ll run the Purchasing function, including the supervision of a small team, providing support to the supply chain activity through managing all activity in relation to ordering and expediting purchased items and ensuring the business maintains an adequate supply of necessary materials.
Your responsibilities will include:
Working with your Director to set and review key purchasing metrics
Communicate with suppliers to make sure materials and components arrive on time and at the correct location, often with tight deadlines and changing forecasts
Ensure the MRP system is set up correctly in terms of MOQ’s, lead times and buffer stock.
Manage and motivate a team of three.
Oversee the purchasing requirements for an international site
Run MRP and raise purchase orders as required.
Reviewing long term purchase commitments in line forecasts
Track inventory usage and adjusts purchasing systems in line with actual performance
Ensure the import of goods is in accordance with HMRC rules.
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers
Review the Purchasing function and ensure it is operating as documented in the Quality Management System
Monitor and review supplier performance to ensure delivery is in line with corporate expectations.
Keeps a well-organised collection of contracts and Quality documents for easy reference when needed.
Attend meetings to ensure the Purchasing function is aware of all relevant activity
Develop systems to run purchasing outside of the MRP when required
The experience the successful Purchasing Manager will bring to the team:
Purchasing experience within Manufacturing
Knowledge of international shipping requirements is advantageous but inessential
SAP experience is advantageous
