Quality Engineer

£33,000 - £35,000 per annum plus benefits

Oxford

 

I am proud to bring to market this unique and brand-new opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer working with one of my global manufacturing clients based in Oxford. This client is working with me exclusively and requires a Quality Engineer. You will present solid experience of working within the Automotive Industry with a cosmetic background and knowledge of chemical surface treatment and paint processing.

 

As Quality Engineer you will form part of a highly successful team with an innovative and transformational business who actively participate in continuous improvement campaigns.

 

As Quality Engineer you’ll be

 

·        Identify improved systems of work, through the continuous improvement system

·        Support the implementation of shop floor quality costing and performance measures

·        Identify opportunities to reduce “waste” and where applicable work towards achieving improvements

·        Ensuring that the business oversees its Quality activities with both customers and suppliers

·        Maintain aspects of the current quality and environmental systems, in order to ensure conformance through a structured audit process

·        Maintenance of aspects of the current quality and environmental systems

·        Support and review of bill of materials where required

·        Support the Commercial and Engineering teams in the selection of appropriate materials

·        Evaluate existing processes and propose improvements to target

·        Become a ‘champion’ in customer specific requirements and systems

·        Manage individual customer complaints / concern and where required operate using a methodical 8D approach ensuring permanent concern resolution

·        Complete corrective actions on customer return activities

·        Maintain Quality documentation and also clear report generation

·        Complete visits at both customers and suppliers where required and respond to quality needs where and when required

·        Liaise with suppliers and where required implement development programmes

 

What you’ll bring to the team

 

·        Six sigma green of black belt highly advantageous

·        Automotive experience essential

·        Engineering degree or equivalent

·        Extensive 8D problem solving experience
