An exciting new role has been created for a Quality Technician with a background in machining or good knowledge of machining processes to join a growing Engineering business.  
The company is a long standing, innovative and market leading engineering business with a broad client base across a number of strong sectors and a proven record of investment, and offers not just stability, security and the ability to make a difference in your role.  The business boasts the highest staff retention, has an award winning leadership team and an open culture that welcomes new ideas and ways of doing things.  This is an opportunity to join a close knit team and play a key role in identifying the root causes of NCRs, and contribute by recommending solutions to improve quality throughout the organisation. 

 

This is what you’ll be doing

  • Complete internal non conformance investigations and implement improvements using quality tools such as 5 why, cause and effect analysis and 8D 
  • Input internal non conformances into the Quality Management System
  • Raise concessions with customers and process the documentation within the Quality Management System
  • Complete complaint investigations to the satisfaction of the customer and record all information within the QMS
  • Assist with maintaining the Quality Management System in line with ISO9001 requirements
  • Liaise with suppliers on quality issues and drive performance improvements
  • Complete periodic quality control checks on the shop floor
  • Ensure calibration is carried out on measuring equipment
  • Manage the purchasing of new measuring equipment
  • Complete quality audits in line with ISO9001
  • Identify and implement quality training needs
  • Raise quality alerts to highlight issues to the shop floor
  • Generate Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions with Operations Teams
  • Drive process developments that improve quality performance
  • Assist with third party audits
  • Able to act as backup in Inspection when necessary

 

The experience you’ll bring to the team

  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Machining experience – hands on or having worked in a similar role in a machining environment
  • H&S/E experience is advantageous but not essential
