​A fantastic accounting-based software business are looking for an experienced business development executive to work alongside their sales director in their successful team.

You will be working in an office in St Austell for a small but fantastic business, who are part of a larger technology group.

This role is perfect for someone who has business development/ internal sales experience and is used to working in a consultative approach sales process. Client relationships are key here and it will be a key area of your responsibility to continuously build relationships with existing and potential clients.


Your responsibilities as a Business Development Executive

  • Investigate and research potential target customers.

  • Work marketing leads/web enquiries to generate new business opportunities.

  • Provide sales support to the Sales Director to help close new business and keep contact with current and old opportunities.

  • Work with the marketing team to create and boost social activity, including joining and sharing business updates on relevant LinkedIn groups to raise the business profile and generate leads.

  • Work with the marketing team to build an effective sales enablement toolkit to improve conversion rates.

  • Sharing ideas to improve the lead generation and sales enablement process.

  • Ensure CRM is accurate, up to date and client communications are recorded.

  • Work with Sales Director to assist in a consultative sales process.

  • Prepare quotations, proposals and sales order documents for client opportunities.

  • Work with the delivery team to aid in technical hand over process.

  • Organise meetings and demonstrations with prospective clients for the Sales Director

  • Liaise with channel partners regarding the health of the sales pipeline

  • Assist the Sales Director in obtaining the final customer order confirmation

Your skills/ experience as a Business Development Executive

  • At least 3 years experience in sales

  • Business to business experience

  • Experience in a software would be great but not essential

  • Excellent Telephone Manner

  • Energetic, positive and proactive

  • Team player with good interpersonal skills

  • Able to work unsupervised on own initiative to meet tight deadlines

  • A can-do attitude, staying calm under pressure in a fast paced, changing environment.

  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of sales cycles, sales targets and deadlines
