I’m recruiting for an experienced Sales Supervisor to join the Cardiff branch of a leading family run business that specialise in plastics building supplies merchant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves people management but is very sales orientated and wants to support driving the business forward.
We are looking for someone who has worked managing a sales team before, with a background in the plastics industry or a different building product. You will be managing a team of 6 and working with other key members of the business and sales teams closely.
Your responsibilities as an Internal Sales Supervisor
Responsible for the internal sales department.
To achieve and exceed agreed sales, profitability and efficiency targets, ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained at all time.
Taking of sales orders from customers by fax, phone, internet, over the counter or in the showroom, advising them as appropriate of the products they require.
Ensure that the Internal Sales Department (Counter, Showroom & Office) are adequately staffed at all times by use of working rotas, especially during holiday and sick leave periods.
In conjunction with the Branch Manager, responsible for the staff, their recruitment, assessment, training, motivation and team building.
Prospecting for New Business and chasing existing quiet / dead accounts.
Ensure that staff are adequately informed and trained in respect of all products available to them to sell.
In conjunction with the Senior Team, ensure that all relevant advertising and marketing is carried out effectively and efficiently and recorded to monitor its success. Ensure that all relevant staff are kept aware of promotions and offers that are available at any time.
Advising customers as to the range of products available and prepare relevant quotations. Monitoring all quotations with a view to converting them into sales.
Processing & checking orders on the computer, ensuring all relevant information is clear and accurate (including delivery address, postcode, contact name & telephone number and if paid or not & by what means). Keep customers aware of any shortages or other problems or alternatives.
Ensure that any Collection Notes raised are sent to the warehouse at the earliest opportunity so that arrangements can be made to collect goods promptly.
If and when any complaints are received, ensure that the details are taken down accurately and efficiently prior to passing them onto the relevant team member for investigation, ensuring that customer satisfaction is paramount at all time.
Responsible for all monies received by the sales department until they reach the accounts department
Your Skills/ experience
Previous experience in a similar sales supervisor/ branch management role
Ability to drive sales through staff management and working with external sales employees
Experience in the plastics industry or other builders merchants
Proven officed based staff management experience
Fantastic communication skills
Benefits to you
Salary £26,000 + per year
Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm + Saturday: 8am to 12noon
