Location: Newport (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £53k
28.9% Pension

The Opportunity

We are now looking for a Senior Data Engineer to work within a multi-functional delivery team, responsible for the delivery of the robust data services and designs.
Technical Responsibilities
- Deliver data enhancements using existing tools and team capabilities.
- Contribute to building a high-quality data engineering capability.
- Collaborate with data and BI teams to improve data access and usability.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and related artefacts.
- Implement solutions for internal and external data movement.
- Work with stakeholders to understand user needs and inform design decisions.
- Deliver data engineering solutions across projects using approved technologies.
- Support organisational data strategy aligned with business goals.
Development & Delivery
- Maintain and develop technical skills, staying current with industry trends.
- Ensure adherence to governance, testing, and build processes.
- Support and guide junior team members where required.
Technical Skills
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Python, and related tools.
- Ability to design, build, test, and document code or scripts.
- Experience preparing, cleansing, and formatting data.
- Understanding of scalable and sustainable data solutions.
Experience
- Contributed to delivery of technical solutions within large projects.
- Familiar with Agile delivery approaches (e.g. Scrum).
- Understanding of DevOps practices.
- Experience using Azure DevOps.
