Yolk Engineering are proud to be partnered with a global leader in electronics manufacturing who have created a new opportunity for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join their large R&D team.

You’ll be responsible for developing existing technology and work on a range of exciting new products, with the opportunity to lead and contribute towards multiple and often complex projects; and will support and mentor colleagues with technical aspect of their work.

This is what you’ll be doing as Senior Power Electronics Engineer

• Control the design, development, and evaluation for new models from concept to manufacture

• Liaising with customers, suppliers and colleagues to ensure project stakeholders are fully informed at all times.

• Ensure safety directives are considered

• Provide technical expertise to resolve complex issues

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of existing designs, assessing historic problems and eradicating from future designs

• Ensure development builds are according to agreed schedules. Support with components and assembly house queries.

• Support cost requirements for projects/developments including samples costs, MP parts, and tooling cost.

• Support the Project Leader to create and maintain project plans/Schedules for mechanical aspects of developments.

• Consider new technology to improve and implement new R&D systems and processes

The experience you’ll bring to the team as Senior Power Electronics Engineer

• Degree level qualification in an Engineering or business based discipline and relevant industry experience, or relevant industry experience in a similar role.

• Experienced in Electrical/Electronic design with a proven track record in power electronics and high voltage transformers.

• Experience in taking concept designs to production.

• Experienced in product and component evaluation.

• Knowledge of project management processes

• High level problem solving skills with the ability to efficiently resolve technical issues.
