Senior Procurement Specialist

The Opportunity

Yolk Recruitment Public Sector & Not-for-Profit team has partnered with a large public sector organisation to recruit a Senior Procurement Specialists. They are an extraordinary organisation based in Newport and Cardiff. This role will start as an interim position initially with a view to turn into a permanent position.

This role is also Hybrid with the requirement to work in the office on a Tuesday or for any meetings with the suppliers.

What the Senior Procurement Specialist will be doing

The ideal Senior Procurement Specialist will work within a professional service focused role,

• Delivering a range of frameworks and contracts at varying complexity and values
• Supporting the development of an enhanced commercial and contractual awareness across the business.
• Negotiating contractual agreements with strategic providers and satisfying day to day procurement requirements to ensure added value, savings, total cost management, quality, and surety of supply.
• Identifying and implementing strategies to manage and mitigate risks and contractual risks to the business
• Undertaking and managing a robust, compliant procurement process including market analysis, issue of PQQ /ITT, assessment, contract placement and negotiation and contract and relationship management

What the successful Senior Procurement Specialist will bring to the team

• certification in CIPS
• Confident in speaking directly to stakeholders both internally and within the supplier base
• Good working knowledge of working within the Public or Utilities Contract
• Experience of dealing with different contract forms
