Overview of role

The overall purpose of the Senior Projects Officer is to work with the major improvement works team to project manage assigned projects from inception to completion.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Specific objectives and deliverables will be agreed with the management team, the points below are a summary of the main responsibilities and accountabilities.

● To project manage Major Improvement Works in effective and efficient ways to meet internal and external service standards;
● To project plan improvement and new build works and integrate into our overall programme being responsible for ensuring the effective project planning and management, coordination, and the issuing of appropriate schedules of and works within budget allowances forassigned projects;
● Using our clients NBS Standard Specification to manage and deliver tender preparation, tendering assessments and coordination, as necessary for the projects assigned;
● Make statutory applications where required for projects that require planning, building regulations, utility providers and health and safety executive notifications;
● To work closely with the Major Improvement Works quantity surveyor so contract payments within projects are managed ensuring compliance with standing orders and financial regulations. Data and Systems
● Ensure that project data and information is kept up to date and of high quality to help contribute to project success;
● Ensure that accurate management information on projects is maintained to inform the KPI’s;
● Following completion of projects ensure collation of project data is reported back to the relevant departments including lifespan.
● Appointment and project management of external consultants that are required to assist in delivery of projects;
● Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues participating actively in meetings, ensuring a full consideration of issues relating to assigned projects.

Knowledge/Qualifications

● Have a relevant professional building related qualification and a high level of project management skills;
● Have good technical knowledge of housing repairs and maintenance, as well as the procedures and regulations relating to housing and property services;
● Have good knowledge of the JCT suite of building contracts.

Experience

● Have experience of delivering projects up to £2M in value.

● Have the ability to write clear and precise reports and present them well;
● Have the ability to project plan with contractors, consultants and external agencies on what successful project performance means to our client.
● Be project budget and contract savvy;
● Be flexible in approach and adapt well to internal and external challenges and change;
● Have the ability to work with contractors, partners and customers to resolve project problems;
● Have the ability to work, collaborate and value contractors, partners and customers to build, maintain and when needed restore relationships for the success of our client within project delivery;
● Be a self-starter with a high level of self-resilience to see things through whilst prioritising work and planning for success;
● Be a team player within the Major Improvement Works Team;
● Build an understanding of the work we do and the culture we are building;
● Represents and promotes our clients purpose, mission and values.

Terms & Conditions

Salary: £36,367 per annum

Working hours: 37 hours per week

Annual Leave: 25 days increasing by 1 for every completed year up to a maximum of 5 days plus bank holidays.

Pension: SHPs (Minimum contribution where you pay 4%, we pay 6%)

Relocation: Reasonable relocation expenses payable if applicable Flexible and agile working
