An exciting opportunity to join the IT team as the new Service Design Lead

What you’ll be doing as a Service Design Lead

Leading the team who are responsible for Service and User Experience Design across all of changes and projects throughout the organisation, the Head of Service Design will be responsible for developing people, capabilities and Service Design Profession. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who can build relationships across the office, continue to build on the professionalism of our Service Design community regardless of delivery style.
What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Leading and managing technical teams.
  • Extensive experience of Service Design tools and methodologies within both agile and DevOps environments.
  • Demonstratable experience of being a Service Design practitioner who drives and implements change.
  • Demonstratable experience of designing systems across multiple services identifying the simplest approach out of a variety of approaches.
  • Demonstratable experience of applying strategic thinking to provide the best service for the end user.
  • Demonstrable experience of professional development of a community of Service Design practitioners including development of new talent such as graduates and apprentices.
  • Experience of large transformational programmes of work and experience of analysis of componentised delivery methods.
  • Experience of GDS assessments and assessment techniques
  • Influencing, both inside an IT department, and across the organisation.
  • Knowledge or experience of blue-printing, prototyping (including prototyping in code) and story boarding techniques including giving direction on what tools and methods to usTechnical skills
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • Evidence and Context Based Design
  • Prototyping
  • Extensive experience of Service Design tools and methodologies within both agile and DevOps environments.
  • Knowledge or experience of blue-printing, prototyping (including prototyping in code) and story boarding techniques including giving direction on what tools and methods to use
