Shift Manager

Working a 3 shift pattern

£27,000.00 per annum basic plus overtime

Swansea

 

Yolk are delighted to be partnering with this rapidly expanding precision engineering business based in Swansea who provide globally competitive products applying LEAN principles and appropriate automation in a fast paced and high-performance environment. This business uses aluminium, copper and stainless steel to produce suitable metal tubing and pipes for a variety of customers globally.

Due to the natural progression of the business they currently require an experienced Shift Manager who will plan, organise and control production ensuring that goods are produced safely, efficiently, on time, within budget and to the correct standard.

As Shift Manager you’ll be

  • Maintenance of correct Headcount within the areas you are responsible for to facilitate effective operations of all resources.

  • Monitoring absence management in line with company policies.

  • Adherence to production schedule adjusting production plan

  • Effective vacation Planning in line with company policies

  • Comprehensive Cross Training planning and execution, promoting greater employee work satisfaction whilst also maximising overall contributions of your teams in the pursuit of customer satisfaction.

  • Planning and timely execution of all customer orders through effective co-ordination of all available resources – people, equipment and processes working closely with planning and logistics department

  • Evaluating equipment performance in a real time manner. Then work with your team members and the engineering team to improve equipment performance by reducing downtime and improving quality yield.

  • Monitor and manage daily performance to short, medium- and long-term production plans.

  • Encourage effective and concise cross section communications

  • Create team briefing agenda and develop a communications strategy to keep your teams up to date

  • Based on 5S scores and needs identified – make sure there is sufficient space identified for the needs of the business ensuring this is managed efficiently and correctly.

  • Adherence to 5S audit schedule and action any issues raised.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Knowledge of 5s methodology highly advantageous

  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance

  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques

  • Previous supervisory or management experience is essential

  • Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices

  • Tenacious leader offering a visual presence

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced high-performance environment ideally Automotive
