Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a Systems Design Engineer to work on a 12 month contract from our client's site over in Stevenage.
About Us: We are delighted to present an exclusive opportunity for a Systems Design Engineer to join our esteemed defence client's cutting-edge project. This role involves developing, building, and testing real hardware for a pivotal missile sub-system. As a Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing the architecture and developing technical requirements for a crucial seeker component. Responsibilities: As a Systems Design Engineer, your role will encompass a wide array of responsibilities, including:
- Providing support to integration and testing teams by capturing test requirements and plans in DOORS.
- Flowing down system requirements to subsystem requirement specifications.
- Defining and maintaining design justification records, establishing linkage from system requirements to subsystem requirements.
- Defining algorithms in firmware and software.
- Developing system-level test sequences.
- Collaborating with subsystem teams to ensure design proposals align with existing constraints.
- Engaging in Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE), a method increasingly adopted within our client's's System Engineering domain.
- Supporting safety, security, and reliability aspects of projects.
- Participating in customer working groups as required.
Requirements: To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Proficiency in tools such as DOORS or other SysML tools.
- Ability to perform requirements analysis and trade-off studies, flowing down requirements to seeker sub-assemblies, firmware, and software.
- Demonstrated systems engineering experience, including exposure to system requirements, developing system architecture models, and configuration control.
- Familiarity with hardware, firmware, or software design constraints.
- Knowledge of RF is desirable.
- Willingness to learn about the project, tools, and methods.
- Demonstrated persistence and dedication to accomplishing tasks.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
