Technical Support Engineer

Up to £39,000 + Benefits

I'm searching for an experienced 2nd / 3rd Line engineer to join a large Security Solutions provider based in Bristol. This is a highly varied role with excellent growth opportunities, in addition to 2nd & 3rd Line support there will be a significant amount of project based work as the company is always looking to improve their diverse Infrastructure environment. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced 2nd Line engineer, with server side experience, to step up into a more 3rd line role. Their Infrastructure is mostly Windows based with a mix of on prem & virtualised servers, the ideal candidate has a varied experience across Windows server side & desktop infrastructure support.

As a Tech Support Engineer this is what you’ll be doing
  • Monitoring & supporting the group Infrastructure. 
  • Investigating, troubleshooting and resolving system faults that fall under 1st - 3rd support tasks and liaising with software/hardware suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Resolving issues within agreed SLA's & escalating issues where appropriate. 
  • Mentoring more junior team members.
  • Ensuring all new initiatives adhere to best practices, audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Installation, upgrades, maintenance, and configuration of hardware & software.
The experience you’ll need to bring to the team.
  • Strong 2nd / 3rd Line Support Experience. 
  • Windows Server - on-prem & virtualised (Hyper-V). Linux a bonus. 
  • LAN / WAN / Firewall Networking. 
  • Active Directory / Exchange / Group policy. 
  • Experience using ticketing systems & working to agreed SLA's. 
As a Service Desk Analyst this is what you’ll get in return
  • Salary up to 39k.
  • 25 Days Holiday (Bank Holidays on top).
