An established business is recruiting a Credit Control Manager into a junior management position within its finance team. This role is designed as a step up opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller or Supervisor who is ready to take on more responsibility, with support from senior finance leadership.

You will play a hands on role within the credit control function, supporting day to day collections activity, monitoring aged debt and helping to develop people, processes and ways of working. Strategic oversight and final accountability sit with senior finance colleagues, allowing this role to focus on delivery, improvement and team support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take an active role in day to day debt collection across the business

  • Support the supervision, coaching and development of the Credit Control team

  • Monitor aged debt and assist with reporting to senior finance colleagues

  • Follow established credit control procedures and contribute to continuous improvement

  • Build effective working relationships with customers, Sales Managers, Depot Managers and internal stakeholders

  • Support the management of accounts referred to external legal advisors and assist with escalation where needed

  • Assist with bad debt write offs and reviews of bad debt provisions

  • Contribute to system, process and ways of working improvement projects

  • Attend customer and depot visits to support collections activity and on site training where required

  • Provide wider support to the finance team as needed

About You

You will be an experienced credit control professional with a strong hands on approach and the ambition to progress into management. You will be comfortable taking ownership of your workload, supporting others and communicating clearly with a range of stakeholders.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Solid experience within credit control or debt management

  • Exposure to supervising, mentoring or supporting colleagues

  • Well organised with strong attention to detail

  • Practical and solutions focused mindset

  • Confident and professional communication style

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Comfortable working in a busy environment
