Yolk Recruitment Public Sector and Not-for-Profit are proud to be recruiting on behalf of Cardiff Community Housing Association (CCHA) for an experienced and customer-focused Electrician to join their in-house M Team.

The Role

As an Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of electrical maintenance and repairs within customers' homes and communal areas. You will work to a right-first-time approach, ensuring safety, compliance, and excellent customer service at all times. This is a permanent opportunity, working Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30 (40hrs per week).

Duties will include:

  • Electrical repairs and responsive maintenance
  • Electrical testing and EICRs (if qualified C&G 2391-50/51/52)
  • Servicing and maintenance of: MVHR, MEV & PIV systems, emergency lighting systems and domestic ventilation systems
  • Shower and pump replacements/repairs
  • Minor plumbing and carpentry alterations
  • Producing certification for completed works
  • Working in line with H&S regulations and internal compliance procedures

You will also participate in the out-of-hours rota and work collaboratively with the wider repairs and compliance teams.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • AM2 (City & Guilds 2357)
  • 18th Edition (C&G 2382)
  • Experience within responsive repairs / maintenance environments
  • Ability to service and maintain ventilation systems
  • Strong understanding of H&S legislation and compliance
  • Experience using PDA systems
  • Full UK driving licence

Benefits:

  • £18.87 p/h (annual salary £39,251)
  • Inclusion on a callout rota at a later date, circa 1 week in 12.
  • Overtime paid at time plus a half
  • Annual leave is initially 27 days plus 8 bank holidays per year with an extra day's leave added per year up to and including the fifth year, equating to 32 days plus 8 bank holidays
  • Opportunity to buy or sell up to 5 days leave each year.
  • Company van will be provided, it can be used for to & from work (no private use).
  • All tools and testing equipment provided.
